This is my favourite cafe in the town, the staff is very friendly, the atmosphere is amazing and I had the best Victoria sponge cake ever! Great achievement team!
The staff were so warm and welcoming, and it was nice to see a lot of the original period interior features had been left. We went for the Greek souvlaki, which was delicious! The chef even came out to check everything was ok, and to inform us it was his special Cypriot family recipe. A Giles Street gem!
What a lovely place, it smelt so good walking past I had to go in and I was so glad I did The chef clearly takes a lot of pride in his food, it shows, I had the souvlaki and it was excellent. The only downside was it was such generous portions there was no room for a slice of the amazing looking home made cakes. The staff were super friendly and helpful, I will definitely be back highly recommended.
I was delighted to see that Lawrence's had re-opened, having fond memories of eating here before and I wasn't disappointed. The menu was clear and easy to read, and I ordered a brie and bacon bap with a flat white coffee. Lovely well cooked bacon and, as expected from a bakery, a delicious bap.
Lovely little coffee shop in town centre. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere, and tasty food. Good seating options in the main area with a cosy little snug that can accommodate 10-12 people for private seating too.
I recommend the afternoon tea at Lawrence's. We had a lovely afternoon, the tea was delicious and very generous. We sat in the cosy snug at the back of the shop, perfect for a small group. Great service from Georgie and Jane who kept bringing fresh pots of tea. Thank you :)
It was a nice calming atmosphere, the food was good, and the chefs suggestion of Greek Souvlaki chicken was lovely. Would definitely come again
I loved this place. I had a great warm welcome from all the friendly staff. Opted for a fry up and it was really delicious. The chef is probably more talented than they give themselves credit for. Great ingredients and finesse, love the rock salt on mushrooms, worked so well. Was great to sit outside in the sun. Price was higher end but matched the good location and great ingredients. E.g. bacon was definitely dry cured and delicious. No complaints here. I’ve heard they do a banging souvlaki for lunch, so Im down for that next time. Give this place a try.
